Martina Lipinska designs powerful and minimalist jewelry for women and men who are not afraid to make a statement. With her gemstones kept like a secret, Nahh Black Design carries a message of freedom, both intimate and universal.
A trained stylist, Martina Lipinska has always been fascinated by accessories. However, she does not identify much with the codes of classic luxury. What she loves are ancestral charms, dark colors, and the hidden side of jewelry. With Nahh Black Design, she expresses her silent radicalism and refusal to compromise. “Nahh” is “no” in English slang, a disenchanted way of showing that one no longer accepts the ordinary.
Based in Thailand, Martina Lipinska draws her inspiration from local rituals. She observes Takrut, protective talismans that locals fill with chosen elements for their significance. This gave her the idea to reverse the usual relationship Westerners have with gemstones, which are typically very visible.
Nahh Black Design jewelry consists of a hollow pendant containing black diamonds, extraordinary stones that embody imperfect beauty. Because value is not shown, it is felt. These modern reinterpretations of Thai culture form a receptacle into which each person can project their own intention.
Necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings are made to order in a small specialized workshop. They come in rhodium-plated silver, gold vermeil, or deep black.
Among the already iconic creations of Nahh Black Design, one immediately thinks of “Le Lienn,” a delicate chain that runs through the pendant in a surprising combination of finesse and roughness. The “Lien Bold” collection offers a more imposing version of the chain, while the “Lien Aimée” ring is a declaration of love for uniqueness, with its square shape holding the reservoir of gemstones. Martina Lipinska has also just launched the magnificent “Lien Une” and “Lien Arc” earrings, to be worn minimally or asymmetrically, as desired.
