Yeung Nok-sze, the eldest daughter of Albert Yeung, Chairman of the Hong Kong business conglomerate Emperor Group, has carved out a solid position in Hong Kong’s business world through her own capabilities, transcending her family background. This business powerhouse recently shared in Singapore with Lianhe Zaobao her insights on balancing career and family, as well as her father-daughter relationship with Albert Yeung.
One often encounters Yeung Nok-sze (59) at watch events such as international watch fairs or new store openings. Her grace, elegance, and approachability always leave a lasting impression. She is not the stereotypical domineering Hong Kong socialite often portrayed in TV dramas, but rather projects an aura of elegant restraint.
In fact, over the years, Yeung Nok-sze has demonstrated the abundant energy of a modern Hong Kong woman successfully managing both career and family, whether in the business arena or at home. In Hong Kong’s fiercely competitive watch and jewelry industry, she has distinguished herself with her exceptional business acumen and innovative perspective on tradition. As a leading figure at Emperor Watch & Jewellery, she has led the family business to expand internationally, also showcasing her passion and relentless pursuit of the art of jewelry.
The interview took place at Emperor Watch & Jewellery’s Orchard Road store, one of the four outlets she first opened locally in 2013 during her initial foray overseas. She plans to open a fifth branch in Singapore this year. Yeung Nok-sze entered the Malaysian market in 2018 and has set her sights on Thailand and Vietnam next. Prior to this, after opening its first specialty store in China at Beijing’s Scitech Shopping Mall in 1996, Emperor Watch & Jewellery actively developed its domestic business. The brand is now established in major cities across China.
