LG is deepening its sustainability efforts by helping automakers and suppliers meet stringent new environmental standards worldwide. This strategic focus underscores the company’s role in advancing greener mobility solutions.

LG is strengthening its commitment to sustainable development by actively supporting automakers and their suppliers in adapting to new global environmental regulations. The company places ecological compliance at the heart of its industrial strategy to support the transition towards more environmentally friendly mobility.
Through its dedicated digital platform, the Vehicle Solution Material Data System (VSMDS), LG optimizes the management of data related to materials used in automotive components. This solution allows for anticipating increasingly strict regulatory requirements, such as the upcoming European Union ban on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). It also provides LG’s partners with concrete tools to measure and reduce their environmental impact.
Since 2022, LG has multiplied awareness and training initiatives for its suppliers. More than 300 participants have already benefited from targeted programs on international compliance, illustrating the company’s desire to build a supply chain aligned with the most demanding ecological standards.
Simultaneously, LG is developing research and development projects around carbon emission tracking, in partnership with the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH).
These continuous efforts have earned LG official recognition: the company has been designated “2025 Leader in Environmental Compliance” and was awarded the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Prize.
Through these commitments, LG confirms its leading role in building a greener automotive ecosystem and in guiding the industry towards a future of sustainable mobility.
