Iksan City recently convened a meeting with local firms set to exhibit at major international trade fairs in Seoul and Hong Kong. This initiative highlights the city’s commitment to supporting its businesses in showcasing their products and technology on a global stage.

Iksan City held a meeting on the 3rd with companies participating in the ‘Seoul International Jewelry & Accessory Show’ and the ‘Hong Kong Jewelry & Gem World Exhibition’.
During the meeting, Iksan Mayor Jeong Heon-yul listened to the companies’ event plans and encouraged the participants. They also discussed measures to revitalize the jewelry industry, including expanding export channels.
The ‘Seoul International Jewelry & Accessory Show’ will be held from the 12th to the 14th at COEX in Seoul, where six local companies will participate to showcase a variety of products and technological capabilities.
The ‘Hong Kong Jewelry & Gem World Exhibition’ will be held from the 17th to the 21st at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Nineteen local companies will participate to explore new sales channels by meeting with overseas buyers. Notably, 12 companies will participate through the Iksan Precious Metals Cooperative, enhancing the competitiveness of local firms with a group booth.
Iksan City and Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province will cover 90% of the booth rental and setup costs to reduce the burden on participating companies. Additional support for interpretation and marketing expenses is also provided. Companies only need to bear 10% of the booth costs.
Last year, at the Seoul exhibition, two participating companies recorded 21 consultations with an expected contract value of 800 million KRW. At the Hong Kong exhibition, ten companies generated 350 consultations, leading to an expected contract value of 10.3 billion KRW. The consultation amount refers to the potential contract value expected to be realized within three years.
