Last Tuesday, August 19, Banco Manabí celebrated a significant milestone in its commitment to sustainability by receiving the international certification as a carbon-neutral company. The certification was granted by the International 100% Carbon Neutral Costa Rica Program and represented in Ecuador by Ambielegsa.
The certification was achieved after a rigorous process that included measuring the institution’s carbon footprint and fully offsetting its emissions, thereby consolidating a responsible management model with a long-term vision.
He highlighted that, thanks to this achievement, the bank helps its clients strengthen their reputation and access new opportunities in markets and with investors who value ecological criteria.
Furthermore, he assured that the entity will continue to offset its carbon footprint, integrating sustainability as an essential component of its operation and future vision.

Andrés Chang, Head of Products at Banco Manabí, highlighted the actions that enabled the certification:
The bank offset 100% of the 60.26 tons of CO₂e generated by its headquarters during the last operational year.
Emissions were measured and verified following the corporate standard of the internationally recognized GHG Protocol.
The achievement is backed by the International 100% Carbon Neutral Program, based in Costa Rica, and its verified representative in Ecuador, Ambielegsa S.A.
