【Jaipur, Indi】IIG Showcases Industry-Linked Training at Jaipur Jewellery Show 2025

Editor’s Note

This article highlights how the International Institute of Gemology is bridging education and industry by showcasing its hands-on training model at a major trade event.

IIG Demonstrates Integrated Education Model

The International Institute of Gemology (IIG) used the Jaipur Jewellery Show (JJS) 2025 to demonstrate its industry-integrated education model. This model combines trade exposure, manufacturing visits, and design evaluation to prepare students for the realities of the jewellery business.

Student Immersion at the Trade Fair

As the Jaipur Jewellery Show 2025 concluded, IIG highlighted its approach to industry-linked education through a structured student immersion programme held alongside the trade fair. Rather than attending as observers, IIG students participated through a Student Delegation Activity designed to familiarise them with the functioning of the B2B jewellery ecosystem. At JJS, students studied contemporary Polki and Jadau jewellery, heritage pieces from Bikaner, and emerging gemstone formats presented by exhibitors including Shiv Narayan, Valentine, Saanre, Mrs Marquise, Raanisaa and B.G. Jewellers.

Curated Factory and Manufacturing Visits

The programme extended beyond the exhibition floor through curated factory visits. At Valentine and Achal Jewels Pvt. Ltd., students observed the jewellery manufacturing process, including design development, Polki Jadau production and quality control. A visit to RMC Gems provided exposure to large-scale gemstone cutting and polishing operations supplying international brands.

Design Education and Industry Assessment

Design education formed another component of the Jaipur programme. At the Jaipur Jewellery Design Festival (JJDF), IIG students presented manufactured master’s project pieces, allowing industry professionals to assess design concepts translated into production-ready jewellery.

Recognition at Design Awards

IIG’s participation was also visible at the IJ Design Awards 2025, where Rabiya Malik, an international online student of the institute, was named among the Top 5 nominees in the GIA Emerging Designer of the Year category.

Educator’s Perspective on Industry Integration
“Earlier, classrooms were enough. Today, education demands equal exposure to industry, process, culture, and decision-making. Immersive experiences like JJS are central to how we prepare students for real careers.”
