This article highlights a significant production milestone announced by ENDIAMA’s Chairman, achieved after fifty years. The company is now prioritizing enhanced geological prospecting and mining operations to sustain this growth.

Speaking to the press on Friday on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Sagrada Esperança Training Center in Dundo, the Chairman of the Board of ENDIAMA EP, Ganga Júnior, emphasized that this achieved goal constitutes a historic milestone of the last fifty years.

According to a statement from the National Diamond Marketing Company (SODIAM), consulted by ANGOP, Angola sold approximately 17.7 million carats in 2025, generating revenue of around 1.8 billion US dollars. This represents an increase of 70.2% in volume and 21.1% in value compared to 2024.
The document specifies that the increase in traded volumes and recorded revenue results from more efficient sales management, following the strategic decision not to build up stocks, unlike what happened in 2024 at the Catoca and Luele mines.
Still according to the note, regarding exports, 17.2 million carats were exported in 2025, representing a growth of 68.9% compared to 2024, despite market adversities marked by constant structural changes and the evolution of end-consumer preferences.

Projections indicate that Angola could become the world’s leading producer, surpassing Botswana, with the ambition of reaching 17 million carats in the coming years, driven by new discoveries.
