This article highlights a crucial yet often overlooked aspect of luxury ownership: proper storage. Beyond the initial purchase, safeguarding watches and jewelry requires thoughtful solutions, from safes and boxes to specialized winders for mechanical timepieces.

Purchasing watches and jewelry is one thing; storing them properly is another. The acquisition of a luxury item immediately raises the question of suitable storage. Owning a safe is logically advantageous. However, the appropriate jewelry box must also be chosen carefully. For owners of mechanical watches, which must be kept wound or in motion, acquiring a suitable watch winder becomes essential.
At Baselworld 2017, the trade fair for watches and jewelry, many companies showcased their creations on this topic. Nowadays, watch winders, in particular, are adapted to home decor and the individuality of their owners. The British family-owned company Wolf, with German roots dating back over 180 years, not only produces highly modern watch winders but also elegant, beautiful jewelry boxes and many exclusive accessories.

After focusing its attention on the North American and Asian markets over the past 25 years, Wolf is now concentrating more strongly again on Europe and the UK. With a strong presence in Basel, the specialist in highly professional storage and presentation models not only introduced storage solutions for watches but also showcased new watch winder modules that can be controlled via an app.
Currently, Wolf has eight collections of watch winders and five jewelry box collections in its range. For example, for fans of expensive luxury cars, there are classic Roadster watch winders, inspired by the luxurious wooden dashboards of vintage vehicles. The winder mechanism allows various settings, including speed, between 300 and 1,200 rotations per day, and rotation direction—clockwise, counterclockwise, and bidirectional.

In response to the growing smartwatch market, Wolf has also developed suitable storage boxes for this generation. This includes the Watch Valet with a Strap Tray and ten compartments for storing various watch bands, or a model for six watches with a Strap Tray for those who own a mix of mechanical watches and smartwatches. Both models also include a charging station for iPhone and Apple Watch.
One of the most popular models from the brand’s jewelry box collections is the Caroline Zip Travel Case. It features the shape of a true classic, with quilted leather on the outside combined with suede lining on the inside. Six different models are available in rose quartz, ivory, black, or red.

Also very appealing are the Blossom collection with a seasonal palette of five different jewelry cases or the stylish, Arabic-inspired Marrakesh accessories.
