How did the idea for this journey come about?
“I am passionate about traveling and learning. When I arrived in Spain, I settled in Valencia and one day I said: I’m going to film a nearby province. I traveled to Murcia, even though everyone told me why I was going. I showed what I found curious and people loved it because I went to a province that not everyone goes to for tourism, I went beyond Madrid, Seville, and Barcelona. So last July, I set out to show people that there is a lot to see in every Spanish province: curiosities, legends… And I always get the same comment: I’m from here and I didn’t know the things you’re telling. We usually don’t value what we have nearby, and that’s what makes people follow me.”

What did you know about Soria before coming?
“What most people know, that it’s the least populated province in Spain. I thought that being small it would have few things, but I started researching and was surprised, and being here now, it’s incredible.”

What have been the most common prejudices about the province you’ve heard since arriving in Spain?
“It happens to me in many places. They tell me not to go. About Soria, what everyone told me was that it would be hard to get to. Luckily, there was a train from Madrid, although they also told me that nobody uses it. But it exists, and if more people used it, maybe there would be more schedules. Then they told me there was nothing, that I would get bored. And everyone told me that one day would be enough, but that’s not the reality. I took a week, didn’t stop, and still missed a lot to see. If you go for a one-day getaway, you’ll have to come back, because just going to the hermitage, the literary route, trying the food… Almost no destination is just for a superficial visit. And it was not boring at all, there’s a lot to see, try, experience, nature, museums, routes…”
