New Appointment

Danish jewelry brand Pandora has announced that former Michael Kors executive Philippa Newman will join the company as its new Chief Product Officer on March 9. She is tasked with ensuring that creativity is “consistently translated into scalable product innovations.”

Background and Responsibilities

Newman brings over 25 years of experience at global luxury fashion and accessory brands. She will lead Pandora’s global product organization and be responsible for the entire product development process, including design, collection management, and development.

Additionally, Newman will be responsible for elevating Pandora’s collections with “distinctive designs,” driving expansion into “new aesthetic territories,” and accelerating innovation through advanced materials and craftsmanship.

Previous Experience

Newman joins from American fashion brand Michael Kors, where she served as Chief Brand and Product Officer, responsible for brand strategy and product encompassing design, merchandising, manufacturing, and sourcing. Prior to that, she held roles at companies including Tory Burch, Alexander McQueen, and Donna Karan.

Reporting Structure and Relocation

She will report directly to Berta de Pablos-Barbier, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pandora, and will become a member of the jewelry brand’s Executive Leadership Team. The American executive currently resides in New York and will relocate to Pandora’s headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 2026.

CEO Statement

Berta de Pablos-Barbier commented on the appointment in a statement:

Predecessor’s New Role

She succeeds Stephen Fairchild, who is moving into the newly created role of Chief Strategic Creative and Cultural Officer, having served as Chief Product Officer since 2011.

In his new capacity, Fairchild will focus on advancing cultural and brand relevance. He will lead the work on Pandora’s material innovation strategy and provide strategic and creative leadership in developing new creative concepts, including trend explorations, collaborations, and future partners. He will remain a member of Pandora’s Executive Leadership Team.
