A Busy Week for Auctions

From July 16 to 23, leading Italian and international auction houses are presenting a diverse array of lots: modern artworks, antiques, graphics, books, philately, watches, and even pieces dedicated to dogs. Between Genoa, Rome, Paris, London, and New York, it’s a week of top-tier auction events.
Even before the summer holidays, the heart of the art market doesn’t stop. Here is the auction calendar for July 16-23, 2025.

July 16: A Strong Start

The week kicks off on July 16 with two interesting auctions. The first is an online sale by Colasanti titled “Manifesti d’Autore ed Opere del XX Secolo,” featuring a selection of 20th-century graphics and works. On the same day in Genoa, Cambi concludes its timed auction dedicated to Oriental Art.
In Rome, the Babuino auction house holds its 293rd sale from July 16 to 18 – “To the Best Bidder – The Last Trustee” – a diverse auction ranging from antique paintings to Asian art.

The Italian Scene Continues

The auction schedule remains busy in the following days. Cambi is particularly active, concluding its Antiques timed auction on July 17, followed by the sale of Ancient and Rare Books under the umbrella on July 18 – an unmissable appointment for bibliophiles. Also on July 18, Fabiani’s online auction of Modern and Contemporary Art ends.
The Italian auction week concludes on Wednesday, July 23, with Cambi holding two sales: the “Maioliche, Porcellane e Vetri” and “Arte M&C – Summer Prints” timed auctions, while a Philately auction dedicated to rare stamp enthusiasts takes place live.

Prestigious International Auctions

Abroad, the auction calendar is equally rich and prestigious. On July 16, Phillips in New York holds its Modern and Contemporary Art sale, a major event for the 20th and 21st-century art market.
Christie’s also holds an online auction on July 16 titled “Full Throttle: Contemporary Prints from a Private Detroit Collection.” In Paris, the historic Drouot auction house hosts a Collectibles sale on July 16, featuring photography, toys, and comics.
Bonhams in London adds to the day’s events with its Knightsbridge Jewellery sale and the Modern British and Irish Art auction.

Diverse Highlights Mid-Week

On July 17, the auction spotlight shifts to different locations. Sotheby’s concludes its RM Sotheby’s Sealed Drop online auction via its Motors department, an opportunity to purchase collector cars via sealed bids. In Vienna, Dorotheum ends its online auction of Watches and Men’s Accessories.
Until July 17, Tajan in Paris proposes the “Modernités et Singularités” sale, while Phillips concludes its online auction “The Hoarder VI: Migration.”
Bonhams concludes its online auctions “Modern and Contemporary African Art” and “Photography Now: The Collector’s Edition.”

Weekend and Finale

Over the weekend, Drouot in Paris holds its Evening Sale of 20th Century Art, Contemporary Art, and Design on July 20. On July 21, Bonhams continues the international week with a Paintings, Furniture, and Miscellaneous auction in Denmark.
July 22 sees the Watches, Jewellery, and Coins auction again at Drouot, and the California Jewellery sale at Bonhams in Los Angeles.
