This article reports on the exceptionally close result of the Sandesh assembly seat in the 2025 elections, where victory was determined by a margin of just 27 votes.
JDU’s Radha Charan Sah has won the Sandesh assembly seat in Bhojpur district by a razor-thin margin of just 27 votes. According to the final results, Radha Charan Sah secured 80,598 votes, while RJD’s Deepu Singh narrowly lost with 80,571 votes. Jan Suraj Party’s Rajiv Ranjan Raj came in third with 6,040 votes. This contest proved to be the most thrilling and nail-biting battle of the entire election, keeping everyone on the edge of their seats until the very end.
The counting process for the Sandesh seat began with postal ballots, followed by EVM counting about half an hour later. The initial trends showed TPP’s Satya Prakash in the lead, surprising many as this seat was won by RJD’s Kiran Devi in 2020.
By the seventh round of counting, RJD’s Deepu Singh had established a strong lead of 3,074 votes over JDU’s Radha Charan Sah. However, the gap narrowed significantly in subsequent rounds. By the 17th round, Deepu Singh’s lead was reduced to just 2,346 votes.
In a dramatic turn of events, by the 21st round, Deepu Singh was ahead by 4,095 votes, making the contest appear to tilt in his favor. However, the final results revealed a stunning reversal, with Radha Charan Sah clinching victory by the slimmest of margins.
