This article details the acquisition of a French high jewelry workshop by Kering-owned Maison Boucheron, effective October 31. The move aims to vertically integrate and strengthen the brand’s production capabilities for its most exclusive pieces.

French luxury jewelry brand Maison Boucheron, owned by the Kering Group, has recently acquired a French high jewelry workshop, effective October 31.

The newly acquired workshop is adjacent to the Place Vendôme in Paris and is also very close to Boucheron’s flagship store at 26 Place Vendôme. Currently, the workshop employs about 60 artisans (CAD designers, jewelers, gem-setters, setters, and polishers), each involved in different stages of production for every piece in the high jewelry collections. Following the acquisition, these artisans will work alongside the members of the existing atelier at Boucheron’s Place Vendôme flagship store to create the brand’s high jewelry series.

This workshop was established and founded by a young French entrepreneur, Cédric Gangemi, who is himself an experienced jeweler. Before taking over and developing this company, Cédric Gangemi had worked for a jewelry house founded in 1961…
