Jaipur: Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma inaugurated the grand India Stonemart 2026 at the Mugdha Convention Hall, JECC Sitapura, Jaipur. This four-day international stone industry event is being attended by 66 companies from India and abroad.

Rajasthan has its own distinct identity

In his address, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that India Stonemart is not just a trade exhibition, but a shared platform for Indian culture, craft tradition, and industrial capability. He stated that globally, India is being seen as a major hub for investment and production, in which Rajasthan’s stone industry plays a significant role. The state has 85 types of minerals, and almost every district has its own distinct stone identity.

‘Rajasthan’s stone is both heritage and future’

The Chief Minister informed that Rajasthan stone has been used in prestigious national buildings like the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Parliament House, and the Supreme Court. The specialty of Rajasthan’s stone is its strength and low maintenance cost, which makes it competitive in the global market. Emphasizing the concepts of ‘One District–One Product’ and ‘One District–One Stone’, he stated that MSMEs, worker welfare, safety, and skill development are the government’s priorities.

‘History speaks through stones’

Addressing the event, Industry Minister Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore said that Rajasthan is a state where history speaks through stones. He informed that India Stonemart, which started in 2007, has now reached its 13th edition and the event has established a global identity. This year, 66 international companies from several countries including Iran, Italy, Turkey, and China are participating.

Shilpgram remained a center of attraction

Shilpgram, organized by RUDA under Stonemart, also remained a center of attraction, where artisans demonstrated traditional crafts and construction techniques. Along with this, global networking is being promoted through B2B meetings, industry dialogues, and export-investment sessions. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Education Minister Madan Dilawar, Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, Additional Chief Secretary (Industry) Shikhar Agrawal, Principal Secretary (Mines Department) T. Ravikant, RIICO Executive Director Dr. Akash Tomar, Laghu Udyog Bharati Organization Secretary Prakash Chandra, R.K. Marble Chairman Ashok Patni, renowned sculptor Arun Yogiraj, along with numerous industry representatives and dignitaries from India and abroad.
