In Gaya, the GRP (Government Railway Police) station incharge has emerged as the mastermind in the case of 1 kg of gold being looted from a moving train. The Railway SP has arrested station incharge Rajesh Kumar. Other personnel involved in the incident are absconding.
The Patna Railway SP has taken major action against 4 GRP personnel, including the station incharge, for looting gold from a moving train in Gaya. The incident of 1 kg of gold being looted from the staff of a businessman traveling on the 22307 Howrah-Bikaner Express train had occurred on November 21 last year. In this case, the Gaya railway police station had registered an FIR on November 29.
The investigation team formed under the leadership of the Patna Railway SP revealed through CDR (Call Detail Record) analysis that all the GRP personnel and the station incharge were involved. Following the incident, on Wednesday, Gaya railway station incharge Rajesh Kumar Singh was arrested, presented in a railway court, and sent to jail. An SIT team of three DSPs has been formed to investigate the gold robbery case.
According to information, GRP personnel looted 1 kg of gold worth 1.44 crore rupees from victim Dhananjay Shashwat, who was traveling on the train, after assaulting him. The GRP personnel executed the crime just before the train reached Gaya Junction and then sent him off after making him buy a ticket. It is said that they also threatened him not to tell anyone.
Following the arrest of railway station incharge Rajesh Kumar Singh, the involved 4 personnel—Karan Kumar, Abhishek Chaturvedi, Ranjan Kumar, Anand Mohan—along with Parvez Alam and former railway station driver Sitaram are absconding. Raids are being conducted to arrest them.
