A rare 10.57-carat purple-pink diamond named “Eternal Pink” is set to headline Sotheby’s Magnificent Jewels Auction in New York on June 8, with a pre-sale estimate of $35 million.

The ‘Eternal Pink’, a rare and beautiful purple-pink diamond weighing 10.57 carats, will be the star of the ‘Magnificent Jewels Auction’ organized by Sotheby’s on June 8 in New York, with an estimated value of $35 million.
With a cushion cut and no internal imperfections, this gem originates from the Damtshaa mine in Botswana. It is considered the quintessence of pink, with an incomparable color and brilliance, entering the market as the most valuable purplish-pink diamond ever to be auctioned.

According to auction house Sotheby’s, the ‘Eternal Pink’ diamond can be compared to “masterpieces of art, much rarer than a Magritte or a Warhol.” Pink diamonds are the rarest gems and the most sought-after in the global market, serving as a haven for investors.

The auction record for this type of precious stone is held by the CTF Pink Star, sold for $71.2 million in 2017 in Hong Kong. However, the Williamson Pink Star, sold for $57.7 million also in Hong Kong in 2022, holds the record for the highest price per carat, set at nearly $52 million.
