Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav has squarely blamed the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) for the Mahagathbandhan’s (Grand Alliance) defeat in the 2025 Bihar assembly elections. Yadav claimed that the SIR “played a game” in Bihar.

The SP chief stated that the electoral conspiracies being carried out in the name of SIR in various states will be prevented in Uttar Pradesh. For this, he announced the formation of ‘PDA Praharis’ (Protectors) who will monitor the entire process. Yadav described the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) not as a political party but as ‘BJP Chhal’ (BJP deceit).

While Yadav had actively campaigned for the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan in Bihar, the counting trends show the BJP and Nitish Kumar-led NDA heading for a major victory. As of 12:30 PM, the NDA was leading on 189 out of 243 seats, while the Mahagathbandhan was ahead on only 50 seats.
