When the diamond was found last year, some experts estimated its value could exceed 53 crore rupees. Now, after all tests are complete, the diamond’s value has been appraised at 360 crore rupees. It is reported that this diamond will be sold at the Sotheby’s auction house.

History of Precious Finds

It should be noted that several such diamonds have been extracted from the Cullinan mine in recent years. These rare stones have been sold for substantial sums. Previously, another blue diamond was extracted from the Cullinan mine and sold for 58 crore rupees.

Furthermore, in 1905, the unique and extremely famous diamond ‘The Star of Africa’ was also extracted from this Cullinan mine. That 530-carat diamond, which resembled a pearl, was gifted to King Edward VII and has since been part of Britain’s royal jewels.
