Busy Auction Week Ahead

A busy schedule of auctions focusing on design, numismatics, graphics, and contemporary art is set to take place in various Italian and international cities from February 12 to 18, 2026.

Major Italian and international auction houses will present a series of sales during the week of February 12-18, 2026, featuring numismatics, 20th-century ceramics, and modern art classics. The Italian auction calendar kicks off on Thursday, February 12th, with a series of unmissable events.

Key Italian Auctions

The ‘Light of Numismatics’ sale by Cambi Casa d’Aste concludes, offering coin collectors a chance at selected pieces. On the same day, Bertolami Fine Art hosts a live auction of ’20th and 21st Century Italian Ceramics’ at Palazzo Caetani Lovatelli in Rome, focusing on ceramics from Rome and Vietri. Also on February 12th, Blindarte concludes its auction of ‘Contemporary African Artworks’, a rapidly growing field attracting international attention.

February 13th is the deadline for the ‘Contemporary Graphics and Multiples’ auction, again by Blindarte. On February 13th, Pananti presents a sale dedicated to ‘Works by Authors from the 16th to the 21st Century’. For silverware enthusiasts, Maison Bibelot holds two interesting auctions on February 13th-14th: one for ‘Silverware’ and another for a ‘Collection of Silver Spoons’. On February 16th, Colasanti concludes its curated event titled ‘Stile Italiano Web-Only’.

The online auction of ‘Wines and Spirits’ by Wannenes runs until February 16th, while the ‘Artworks, Sculptures, Art Objects and Ceramics’ sale continues until February 17th.

On February 17th, the focus returns to Cambi for the closing of the ‘Oriental Art’ session, while Capitolium Art holds an online auction of ‘Paintings, Sculptures and Antique & 19th Century Furniture’ on February 17th and 18th.

In addition, Farsetti Arte will hold an auction of ’19th and 20th Century Paintings and Drawings’ on February 17th.

On Wednesday, February 18th, auction house Cambi concludes its timed auction of ‘Modern and Contemporary Art’. For bibliophiles, Finarte holds an online auction on February 18th titled ‘Science Books: Treasures Between Geometry and Analysis’, a fascinating journey through scientific history literature. Finally, Colasanti concludes its web auction of ‘Modern and Contemporary Artworks’ on February 19th.

International Highlights

Internationally, the week is equally full of opportunities. On February 12th, Dorotheum holds the online auction ‘High Jewellery – The Magic of the Waltz’ in Vienna, a tribute to Austrian elegance. Also on February 12th, Sotheby’s concludes its ‘Contemporary Discoveries’, ‘Arcade Sale / London’, ‘Handbags & Accessories’, and ‘The Gem Drop February’ sales.

On February 12th, Tajan holds the ‘EXPRESSIONS CONTEMPORAINES’ sale, while Bonhams‘ ‘Cornette de Saint-Cyr’ online jewellery auction also ends on February 12th. On February 12th, Christie’s held the ‘Eileen Roosevelt Aitken: Living Room and French Paintings’ sale; on February 13th, Christie’s held the ‘Eileen Roosevelt Aitken: Library, Bedroom and Valuables’ sale. In Cannes, the iconic Drouot auction house hosts multiple daily sales, including a ‘Contemporary Art’ session on February 14th. On February 15th, Bonhams holds a ‘Numismatics’ session. Until February 16th, Sotheby’s hosts the ‘NBA AUCTIONS PREMIER: NBA CUP FINALS’ sale, and on the same day, Bonhams holds a ‘Paintings, Furniture and Varied Items’ auction in Denmark.

From February 17th to 26th, Christie’s holds the ‘Contemporary Edition: New York’ sale in New York. Concurrently, until February 27th, Christie’s also holds the ‘First Open | Post-War and Contemporary Art’ sale, featuring works donated by the late Jenny Lee for the benefit of The Menil Drawing Institute.

Subsequently, Drouot holds the ‘Furniture and Art Objects I’ auction in Paris on February 17th. Finally, on February 18th in Paris, Piasa stands out with sales titled ‘Contemporary Design’, ‘Martin Bradley vs Jean-Claude Silbermann’, and ‘Carlo Nason, The Light of Painting’.
