Gonzalez Fernandez is “a rough diamond,” according to Koen Witters, the goalkeeper coach at Genk.

“He has a solid foundation to build upon. All his qualities still need to be refined, but he is extremely motivated and eager to learn. Physically, we expect him to make great strides in the coming months.”

The young goalkeeper will start the season with the U16s. He “will have the necessary time and space to develop calmly,” the club emphasized.
