Gold is widely regarded as a symbol of wealth and auspiciousness, with technological advancements that enhance its hardness and flexibility enabling the creation of innovative designs combining gold with gemstones. This has been an emerging new trend within the jewellery industry for last year and continuing into 2026. Moreover, apart from the Wider China region, demand for gold jewellery is growing in ASEAN and India. In response to the market trends, the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show introduced the Gold Jewellery zone in 2025. The zone will continue to showcase innovative designs and exquisite craftsmanship in gold jewellery at the upcoming edition.
Building on the spirit of creativity, the Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition invites design talents to explore the theme of “Pure Elegance – Natural Beauty.” The entries are expected to convey jewellery’s essential appeal and the concept that pure elegance is discovered in the quiet brilliance of authenticity. The awards presentation ceremony will take place at the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show, where the winning pieces will also be showcased throughout.
Meanwhile, the Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show will once again feature exceptional selections of diamonds, pearls and quality gemstones, alongside raw materials for jewellery from various origins. The Hall of Fine Diamonds will present huge carat-sized diamonds, Treasures of Nature will showcase stunning collections of rubies, emeralds and sapphires, and Treasures of Ocean will enchant the buyers with natural sea pearls.
The twin shows have consistently organised seminars in line with industry trends, covering topics such as the application of AI in design and authentication in recent years, and will continue to explore innovative themes in this direction. The shows will also deliver an all-rounded programme with jewellery parades, buyer forum and networking events that bring trending market intelligence to industry players.
The twin jewellery shows will be held under the EXHIBITION+ hybrid model and complemented by Click2Match, an online smart business matching platform, providing extended opportunities for traders to connect beyond geographical limits. To facilitate buyers’ admission, the HKTDC Marketplace App and official websites of the two shows will be providing an online self-authentication function. Buyers will be able to download the HKTDC Marketplace App and register through the app by uploading their photos and valid documents for instant authentication to obtain a verified buyer e-badge for direct admission, which will greatly reduce queuing and waiting time on-site.
