Editor’s Note
This article outlines a new partnership that streamlines the resale process for brand items on Rakuten’s flea market app, connecting sellers directly with professional inspection and purchasing services.

The “Brand Purchase Flea Market” is a feature provided within the flea market app “Rakuma Rakuma” operated by Rakuten Group Inc. (hereinafter, Rakuten). With this feature, users simply ship the brand items they wish to sell. The partner company, Komehyo Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, Komehyo), conducts inspections, Grams Inc. (hereinafter, Grams) handles the purchase, and the items are then automatically listed and sold on “Rakuma Rakuma.”
This service began trial operations in the “Bags” category in May 2025, with the “Watches” category added in August of the same year. In response to positive user feedback, the new “Brand Jewelry” and “Fashion” categories have now been added, expanding the number of handled brands to over 50. This allows users to sell a wider range of brand items through this service.
To commemorate this category expansion, Rakuma is running a special campaign. For applications made to the “Brand Purchase Flea Market” between November 28, 2025, and December 31, 2025, where a sale is completed on “Rakuma Rakuma” by January 31, 2026, users will receive triple the usual Rakuten Points. Normally, points equivalent to 1% of the sales amount are awarded, but during this campaign period, triple points will be presented.
The process for using this service is very simple. Users submit a predetermined purchase application and ship the item they wish to sell from their home. After Grams conducts an appraisal, if the user accepts the offered purchase price, they can receive that amount in cash. Please note that payment for the purchase may take several days after acceptance.
The item is automatically listed on “Rakuma Rakuma.” If a sale is completed within a specified period, a few percent of the sales amount is additionally refunded in cash according to the standards set by “Rakuma Rakuma.” Furthermore, points equivalent to 1% of the sales amount are awarded as “Rakuten Points.”
A major feature of this service is that shipping fees for sending the item, appraisal fees, and return shipping fees if a decision is made not to list the item are all free. This allows users to easily receive appraisals for their brand items without any cost burden.
Note: While registration for “Rakuma Rakuma” is not required, logging in with a Rakuten ID is necessary to receive “Rakuten Points” if the item is sold.
Let’s look at the specifics of the “Brand Purchase Flea Market” service. With this service, users can simply ship their unused brand items to enable professional purchase and sale on “Rakuma Rakuma.” Users not only receive the purchase amount in cash but also get an additional cash refund of a few percent of the sales amount if the item sells on “Rakuma Rakuma” within a specified period. Additionally, points equivalent to 1% of the sales amount are awarded as “Rakuten Points.”
The current target categories are the following four:
– Bags

– Watches
– Brand Jewelry
– Fashion
Target brands include over 50 brands designated by “Rakuma Rakuma.”
Please note that target categories and brands are based on information as of November 28, 2025, and are subject to change.
Here are more details about the aforementioned campaign. This campaign triples the points awarded when a user utilizes the “Brand Purchase Flea Market” and their item is successfully sold on “Rakuma Rakuma.”
The campaign period is from 10:00 on Friday, November 28, 2025, to 23:59 on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. Eligible users are those who complete an application for the Brand Purchase Flea Market during this campaign period and whose purchased item is successfully sold on “Rakuma Rakuma” by Saturday, January 31, 2026.
Time-limited points will be awarded, with the expected award period around mid-February 2026. The base rate is 1 point per 100 yen of sales amount (1x). Users meeting the campaign conditions will receive 3x this amount.
Finally, let’s introduce “Rakuma Rakuma,” the platform for this service. “Rakuma Rakuma” was born from the merger in February 2018 of “Frill,” Japan’s first flea market app launched in July 2012, and “Rakuma,” which was operated by Rakuten.
This service aims to activate the circulation market and contribute to realizing a circular society by expanding the “circle of circulation” that connects people to prevent waste and circulate goods, and by building an e-commerce world where anyone can easily participate. The expansion of categories for the “Brand Purchase Flea Market” can be seen as part of these efforts based on this philosophy.

Rakuma states it will continue striving to build new e-commerce platforms to provide users with convenient and high-value-added services through transactions involving individuals and businesses.
