Piaget revisits its iconic 1979 Polo design with the new “Polo 79 Two-Tone,” a minimalist timepiece that artfully contrasts white and yellow gold. This release celebrates the brand’s legacy of ultra-thin watchmaking, a cornerstone of its identity since the 1950s.

Piaget, the luxury watch and jewelry brand founded in Switzerland in 1874, has announced the “Piaget Polo 79 Two-Tone.” This jewelry watch beautifully contrasts shining white gold and yellow gold within a minimalistic design.
In the field of wristwatches, Piaget solidified its position in the watch industry by developing its own ultra-thin movement in 1957. The “Piaget Polo,” launched in 1979, was designed to leverage this ultra-thin movement.
In 2024, to commemorate the brand’s 150th anniversary and the 45th anniversary of the original model, Piaget released the “Piaget Polo 79” in 18K yellow gold. It garnered significant attention, winning the Iconic Watch Prize at the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix, often referred to as the “Academy Awards of the watch world.”
The newly announced “Piaget Polo 79 Two-Tone” features a new exterior combining 18K white gold and 18K yellow gold.
Its most distinctive feature is the gadroon decoration (striped pattern) seamlessly extending from the dial to the case and bracelet, crafted in brushed 18K white gold and polished 18K yellow gold.
The dial maintains a simple design with only hour and minute hands, the logo, and a minute track. Notably, the minute track utilizes the two gold materials in alignment with the stripes, showcasing delicate design ingenuity.
The in-house movement “Caliber 1200P1” has a thickness of merely 2.35mm. Through the case back, one can observe the motion of the 22K yellow gold micro-rotor engraved with the Piaget coat of arms.
The combination of the slim case and integrated bracelet also ensures a comfortable fit.
Thanks to its minimalistic design, this timepiece allows one to fully appreciate the true value of gold.
It achieves a high-level harmony of simplicity and elegance, making it a versatile timepiece suitable as both a sports-elegant and a dress watch.
