This partnership between Monica Vinader and Zimbaqua marks a significant step in ethical sourcing, utilizing blockchain to provide full traceability for the new Odyssey aquamarine collection. It highlights a growing industry trend toward transparency and support for women-led initiatives.

British light luxury jewelry brand Monica Vinader has partnered with Zimbaqua, Africa’s first fully women-run gemstone mine, to launch its first fully traceable aquamarine collection, named Odyssey.
When shopping online, customers can access information about the jewelry’s origin and sustainability certifications through blockchain technology.

The collaboration with Zimbaqua, launched this month, marks a significant step for Monica Vinader in achieving full supply chain transparency.
The Odyssey collection features boldly cut gemstones set on a 100% recycled 18k gold vermeil. The series includes five different designs: a bracelet, a necklace, a cocktail ring, and two styles of earrings.

The rough stones are sourced from the Zimbaqua mine in Karoi, Zimbabwe. The mine is dedicated to creating a positive impact on the community, particularly through education and child welfare.
