On Tuesday, an anonymous private collector won the bid, outbidding two other contenders.
According to Christie’s, the “Bleu Royal,” set on a ring, is the largest flawless, vivid blue diamond ever offered at auction. The estimated value of the approximately 13-millimeter-long and 8-millimeter-wide teardrop-shaped stone ranged between 31.6 million and 45 million francs. The seller of the ring was not disclosed.
