This article examines how fragmented legacy systems can hinder operational efficiency and growth, using a real-world case to illustrate the tangible costs of technological disparity.

Different business units at Malabar Gold and Diamonds previously operated on different legacy systems to manage their processes. These disparate systems were becoming increasingly inefficient and costly to manage and could not keep up with evolving business demands.
To address these challenges, Malabar Gold decided to implement Microsoft Dynamics 365. The company adopted Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management to support back-office functions, export operations, bullion processes, supply chain, and inventory management. For its retail operations and point-of-sale (POS) needs, it deployed Dynamics 365 Commerce.
Today, Malabar Gold and Diamonds operates on a fully integrated solution. This unified platform provides centralized master data management, comprehensive financial reporting, end-to-end inventory visibility, efficient POS operations, and streamlined retail store management.
