This article clarifies that the new McDonald’s in Santander’s Puertochico market will adhere to the market’s operating hours, addressing community concerns about late-night operations.

The mayor of Santander, Gema Igual, emphasized this Friday that the future McDonald’s, which will be located in the Puertochico market, will have the same operating hours as the market and will not be open until the early morning hours.

Igual responded this way to journalists’ questions about the establishment’s hours. The establishment currently has an activity license but is awaiting a construction permit to begin its installation inside the market, as well as an opening license.
After presenting a campaign to combat the insect affecting palm trees, Igual was asked about a report from the Government of Cantabria which stated that the McDonald’s could be open to the public until two in the morning.

Gema Igual referred journalists to information already provided by the City Council, which stated that the McDonald’s will have to comply with the market’s hours and everything indicated in the facility’s statutes for any activity.

Regarding the repair work on the underground parking garage under Plaza Pombo, where cracks appeared, Gema Igual recalled that the City Council is working on a report that will determine the state of the infrastructure’s floor slab load and the solutions.
