Editor’s Note
This article outlines the streamlined crafting system introduced in the ‘Legion’ expansion for *World of Warcraft*, detailing how players can acquire new recipes and improve their efficiency through a ranking system.

In the World of Warcraft expansion ‘Legion’, players can immediately learn and craft the schematics or designs for each profession, excluding recipes from the original game up to Warlords of Draenor. Most can be acquired through quests or purchased from NPCs that appear in related quests.
Equipment item recipes can be learned from Rank 1 up to Rank 3. Learning a Rank 1 recipe allows you to craft the equipment, and as the rank increases, the materials required for crafting decrease. Rank 1 equipment recipes can be learned in the same way as other recipes, while higher ranks can be purchased from emissaries after reaching a specific reputation level.
The system that previously upgraded crafted equipment items through professions has been replaced by an item called ‘Obliterum’. After gaining access to the ‘Obliterum Forge’ in Dalaran through a quest, Obliterum can be obtained by obliterating equipment crafted with professions at the forge. This item can be used on item level 815 equipment, increasing the item level by 5 per use, up to a maximum of 7 times, reaching item level 850.
Rings and necklaces crafted through Jewelcrafting come with an additional, randomly determined secondary stat beyond their primary stats. They also feature one prismatic socket that can accept any color gem. Additionally, players can craft gems, toys, lockpicks, and other items.
