Tiffany & Co. reimagines a classic motif, centering its latest high jewelry collection on the exceptional rarity of natural saltwater pearls.

The world-renowned jewelry house Tiffany & Co., with its 188-year history, has unveiled the ‘Bird on a Pearl’ high jewelry capsule collection. This collection offers a modern reinterpretation of the iconic ‘Bird on a Rock’ motif by legendary jewelry designer Jean Schlumberger.
Curated by Tiffany’s Chief Artistic Officer Nathalie Verdeille, this collection pays homage to Jean Schlumberger’s timeless designs while celebrating the beauty of the world’s rarest natural saltwater pearls.

The collection expresses natural saltwater pearls in a novel way, elevating nature’s wonders into art. Designs featuring the bird motif perched atop baroque or drop-shaped pearls, or pieces where the bird’s head or body is set with a pearl, traverse the boundary between nature and the extraordinary, showcasing organic and bold forms.
Furthermore, the pearls’ gradient colors and diverse shapes evoke the soft light of spring, the warm sunshine of summer, and the delicate hues of autumn.

The collection holds even greater value as it features pearls sourced from the Gulf region by the world-renowned natural saltwater pearl expert, Hussein Al Fardan.
Creating a necklace from the Gulf region’s natural pearls, prized for their size, shape, and luster, can take over 20 years.
Hussein Al Fardan’s personal collection is the largest of its kind from the Gulf region. For the third consecutive year, Tiffany has secured the exclusive opportunity to select pearls from his collection—a significant and unusual arrangement for a jewelry brand.

The main design of the ‘Bird on a Pearl’ collection is characterized by the dynamic posture of the legendary bird motif and the debut of a detail where the bird’s body is set with a pearl. The ‘Acorn and Oak Leaf’ design draws inspiration from Jean Schlumberger’s archives, beautifully complemented by a large autumnal pearl.
This ‘Bird on a Pearl’ collection showcases the rarest resources provided by nature and the essence of Tiffany’s artistry, commemorating the legacy through a new collection that inherits Jean Schlumberger’s innovative design spirit.
