A case has emerged where an employee at TCS, who was attending to his father’s surgery, was forced to leave the company. The HR department allegedly pressured the employee to resign.
During this time, a shocking report surfaced. Once again, a case of forced termination has come to light at TCS. It is alleged that the company dismissed an employee from Mumbai who was attending to his father’s surgery.
According to Pavanjeet Mane, Maharashtra head of the Forum for IT Employees (FITE), who spoke with Jagran Business:
According to Pavanjeet Mane, this employee had a total of 14 years of experience and had been working at TCS for 7 years. The HR gave the employee two options: either resign by taking 10 months’ salary or accept termination. This was especially concerning as he was also working on an important project.
Regarding this, FITE wrote on the social media platform X:
Pavanjeet explained that this entire incident dates back to August-September 2024 and has now come to light. Currently, the employee is now working at another company. FITE also posted about this entire matter on social media platform X, writing: “This is the dark truth of TCS.”
Pavanjeet further stated that the company did not stop there. After the employee’s resignation, TCS also refused to pay him his gratuity. Following this, the employee filed a complaint against TCS at the Labor Office. On the employee’s complaint, the Mumbai Labor Office summoned the TCS management.
The Labor Commissioner warned TCS about unfair labor practices. He also ordered TCS to pay the full gratuity for the employee’s 7 years of service. However, after a year-long case, the employee has now received the full amount.
According to media reports, TCS has laid off thousands of employees this year. In the second quarter (Q2FY26), the total employee count decreased to 593,314. The company states that due to AI and automation, close to 12,000 employees (approximately 2%) have been affected.
