Crestare, a Tokyo-based jewelry brand considerate of metal allergies, has released the first part of its 2022 Summer Collection “Interius.”
The collection is inspired by the accidental shadows created when light hits glass, and the shimmering light that changes when water enters. It expresses the profound, inner beauty born in a certain moment through three series: “coruscent (shimmer),” “umbra (shadow),” and “perspicuus (transparent).”
The newly released “coruscent (shimmer)” series represents the ambiguous, swaying water surface and the beauty that is not reflected on the surface but certainly exists. It shapes the distorted holes and surfaces like water droplets that appear on a plate, or your own shimmer like a path of light.

These items can be viewed at the pop-up store at Isetan Shinjuku, starting June 22 (Wednesday). In addition to the 2022 Summer Collection “Interius,” popular items that are usually not available for direct viewing will also be on display.
For purchases of ¥15,000 or more (tax included) at the pop-up store, a brand original pouch that can also be used as a jewelry case will be presented as a gift.

All Crestare jewelry items use surgical stainless steel, which is said to be less likely to cause metal allergies. The director herself suffers from metal allergies, and the brand was born from a strong desire to enjoy jewelry even with metal allergies, making it a brand for everyone who wants to enjoy jewelry, including those with metal allergies.
In general manufacturing methods, a base layer (containing nickel) is often applied between the base material (metal) and the surface metal coating (plating). However, this base layer often contains nickel, and when the surface metal coating becomes thin, metal allergy reactions can occur.
Since Crestare jewelry uses surgical stainless steel as the base material, it is said to be less prone to metal allergy reactions, and the coating process is also carefully considered.
It is made using a method that does not use a nickel-containing base layer, which is common in many jewelry items, and the metal coating is applied directly to the surgical stainless steel base. Therefore, even if the surface metal coating becomes thin over time, metal allergy reactions are less likely to occur.
