**Editor’s Note:** Bijou Brigitte’s first-half results show a strong recovery, with turnover more than doubling to EUR 131.3 million and a swing to a pretax profit of EUR 11.7 million from a loss last year.
According to provisional figures, the Bijou Brigitte group achieved a turnover of EUR 131.3 million in the first six months of the 2022 financial year (EUR 63.4 million last year). The consolidated result before income taxes amounted to EUR 11.7 million in the first half of 2022 (EUR -27.2 million last year).
Due to these positive results, the company is increasing its revenue and profit forecasts for the current year, although the second half of 2022 will certainly be influenced by the evolution of inflation and purchasing power.
Several factors could have a negative impact on its business: a new wave of Covid with the resulting restrictions, supply difficulties, the continuation of the war in Ukraine and its consequences on gas supply. However, if no disruption affects the continuation of its activities, Bijou Brigitte could achieve a turnover of between EUR 280 million and EUR 300 million in the 2022 financial year (compared to EUR 216 million last year). The consolidated result before income taxes could be between EUR 20 million and EUR 35 million.
The Bijou Brigitte fashion accessories AG group is expected to publish its full half-year financial report in mid-September.
