This article reports on a business agreement signed between the Fashion Industry Testing Institute and the Seoul Jewelry Support Center to enhance quality analysis support for jewelry products, as announced by Iksan City.
Iksan, South Korea – The Fashion Industry Testing Institute, entrusted operator of the Fashion Jewelry Joint R&D Center, signed a business agreement with the Seoul Jewelry Support Center on the 15th to support quality analysis of jewelry products, according to Iksan City.
The Seoul Jewelry Support Center, established in 2015 in Jongno, Seoul, aims to provide one-stop jewelry support services and revitalize the jewelry industry. It selected Iksan as a ‘Quality Analysis Support Project Cooperation Partner’ to enhance product quality and competitiveness.
Under the agreement, jewelry companies in Seoul will request testing and analysis from the Fashion Industry Testing Institute, with costs paid directly by the Seoul Jewelry Support Center to the testing institution.
The Fashion Industry Testing Institute operates the Fashion Jewelry Joint R&D Center under commission from Iksan City. With support from Iksan City, it received KOLAS (Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme) accredited testing institution status from the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards in 2020. It currently issues official test reports necessary for jewelry quality management, including:
– Plating thickness measurement
– Salt spray testing
– Lead content analysis
– Nickel release testing
KOLAS refers to a system and organization that evaluates the organization, personnel, facilities, etc., of testing, calibration, and inspection institutions according to international standards, accrediting their international testing capabilities.
