Bvlgari has inaugurated the expansion of its production site in Valenza, which, with a total surface area of 33,000 square meters, claims the title of the world’s largest single-brand jewelry factory. This monumental project will enable the LVMH group maison to double its production capacity by 2029, creating over 500 new jobs and bringing the total workforce to approximately 1,600 employees. This underscores the strategic importance of the initiative, which involves the manufacturing facility first opened in 2017, for the entire Alessandria goldsmith district.

“This is the realization of a new, contemporary, and audacious model of what the luxury industry should be in the future,” stated CEO Jean-Christophe Babin at the inauguration.

Indeed, the site represents much more than a simple factory, assuming a central role both in training and sustainability. Within the three buildings, powered 100% by renewable energy through an innovative system of over 4,000 photovoltaic panels, the new Bvlgari School is housed—the maison’s first training center open to the public, which will complement the Bvlgari Jewelry Academy active since 2017 in training artisans. This initiative confirms the brand’s commitment to nurturing and developing future talents, as well as its attention to employee well-being, who will enjoy the adjacent forest, an internal gym, a car-sharing service, and of course, an on-site restaurant.

Art Within the Site

Alongside heritage and innovation, art also finds a place within the site. The Piedmont manufacturing facility hosts two contemporary art installations: the first is Serpenti, by Zaha Hadid, originally created for the Bvlgari pavilion at the 2011 Abu Dhabi Art Fair; the second is Vista Aeterna by Sabine Marcelis, unveiled last year on the occasion of the maison’s 140th anniversary and conceived as a tribute to Rome, the brand’s city of origin. Serving as a symbolic bridge between the original structure and the newly inaugurated expansion is a mural by street artist Lucamaleonte.
