Melzwig/MZ. – Coffee capsules usually end up in the trash. With Esther Henze, they become jewelry. In her small studio in Melzwig, she transforms the disposable product into colorful accessories. Striking earrings, pendants, and rings, which at first glance hardly reveal what they are made of, are created here through painstaking handwork. It is a play with colors, shapes, and materials. That her label is called “Jeu de Couleurs,” meaning color play, is therefore no coincidence. Because exactly this kind of thing fascinates the jewelry artist and ensures that no piece of jewelry is like another.
