Iksan City’s jewelry manufacturers have formally united under the newly launched ‘Iksan Jewelry Manufacturers Cooperative,’ marking a strategic move to bolster local industry competitiveness and foster collective growth.
Iksan City, North Jeolla Province, announced on the 2nd that jewelry manufacturers have joined forces to revitalize the local industry. On the 27th of last month, the ‘Iksan Jewelry Manufacturers Cooperative’ held a plaque unveiling ceremony at a jewelry rental factory in Nangsan-myeon.
The ceremony was organized to mark the launch of the cooperative, established to secure competitiveness and create shared benefits for local jewelry manufacturers, and to pledge a leap forward as a locally-based industry.
The cooperative was established under the Small and Medium Enterprise Cooperative Act and has completed moving into a jewelry rental factory located in the fashion district of Iksan’s 3rd General Industrial Complex, commencing full operations.
Key initiatives include: developing domestic and international online and offline sales channels, utilizing shared equipment, joint procurement of raw materials, joint wastewater treatment, and design development. These efforts aim to strengthen the competitiveness of local jewelry businesses and support new startups among the youth.
