GIA will participate in the HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show from March 2 to 8, 2026, at AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) and the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). GIA will showcase hands-on experiences, expert education, and trade support tools designed to help you confidently identify diamonds and gemstones, clearly communicate value, and grow your business. Gain pearl expertise in just one day at the HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show. Through hands-on coursework, learn how experts use GIA’s 7 Pearl Value Factors™ (size, shape, color, luster, surface, nacre, and matching) to evaluate cultured pearls from Akoya, freshwater, South Sea, and Tahitian origins.

GIA Gemologist Seminar — HKCEC
The Science of Colored Stone Origin Determination
As the gemstone industry emphasizes transparency and responsible sourcing, the importance of origin determination continues to grow. Starting in 2026, GIA will introduce a newly designed colored stone report that presents test results more clearly and effectively.
This seminar outlines the core scientific basis for determining origin, including key analytical methods, field studies, and gemological indicators. Mr. McClure will present GIA’s latest reports and expanded origin services for opal, peridot, and demantoid garnet, in addition to existing reports for major colored stones such as sapphire, ruby, emerald, and jade.
