New Orleans—Jack Sutton Fine Jewelry announced last week that it is closing its store in Canal Place, a high-end shopping mall in downtown New Orleans, after four decades.
Jack Sutton Fine Jewelry is hosting a going-out-of-business sale at its store at the Canal Place mall in New Orleans, one of two stores it has in the city. The independent jeweler, which has been in business since 1915, will continue to operate its other New Orleans store as well as its location in Aspen, Colorado.
Co-owner Jack Sutton’s grandfather opened the family’s first jewelry store inside the city’s Fairmont Roosevelt Hotel in 1915. In 1980, Jack Sutton began his career in the jewelry business, working under his uncle and later opening the Canal Place store.
For decades, both locations have upheld the family’s commitment to creating exquisite jewelry that reflects the artistry and spirit of New Orleans, the retailer said.
Jack Sutton Fine Jewelry is holding a closing sale at the Canal Place store, offering engagement rings, bridal pieces, loose diamonds, and one-of-a-kind designs at “massive discounts.”
The closing sale offers the community an opportunity to be part of a legacy that has shaped New Orleans’ luxury jewelry scene for generations, the retailer said.
The family later expanded into the French Quarter, eventually growing to 12 stores and “establishing a reputation for refined craftsmanship and timeless design,” it said. He expanded to a second location at 315 Royal St. in the French Quarter.
The Royal Street location, as well as the store in Aspen, Colorado, will remain open, with Jack’s wife Ruth Sutton at the helm.
