Editor's note

The renewal of IEG and AFEMO’s partnership, backed by a €60 million expansion, signals a more frequent and integrated platform for sourcing advanced jewelry manufacturing tech. Buyers should note the shift to biannual T.Gold shows, offering steadier access to automation and sustainable production innovations from Italy’s key suppliers.

Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) and AFEMO, the Italian Association of Manufacturers and Exporters of Goldsmithing Machinery, have renewed their strategic partnership for 2026–2028, reinforcing T.Gold—the trade show for jewelry and precious metal manufacturing technologies held alongside Vicenzaoro. For overseas jewelry buyers, this signals a more integrated and frequent platform to source advanced manufacturing equipment, from additive manufacturing to quality control, directly from Italy’s leading suppliers.

Supply-chain impact

The renewal is part of IEG’s €60 million self-financed expansion of the Vicenza exhibition center, including a new Hall 2 opening in September. T.Gold will move from Hall 9 into Hall 4, integrating it more closely with Vicenzaoro. Starting this year, T.Gold will run twice annually, in January and September, aligning with Vicenzaoro’s schedule. This gives buyers a steadier rhythm for evaluating and sourcing jewelry manufacturing equipment.

Technology and innovation focus

Both organizations have committed to tracking macro trends reshaping the sector: advanced automation, additive manufacturing (including binder jetting), new materials, sustainable production, and testing/quality control. A program of conferences, educational sessions, and training will support these themes. The Vicenza Symposium last September gathered over 80 companies and institutions to discuss sustainable AM adoption, from cyanide-free electroplating to metal traceability and AI-assisted quality control.

What buyers should watch

Matteo Farsura, Global Exhibition Manager of IEG’s jewellery exhibitions, stated: "Our collaboration with AFEMO represents a strategic asset that goes beyond T.Gold," extending to Oroarezzo, JGTD in Dubai, and SIJE in Singapore. "Together, our goal is to build an innovation platform spanning all our B2B events, capable of promoting knowledge transfer and supporting the international competitiveness of companies throughout the supply chain." AFEMO represents 60 member companies with a combined turnover of roughly €600 million, an indirect economic impact of €1 billion, and over 3,000 employees.

China sourcing context

While this partnership is Italy-focused, it underscores a global trend: jewelry buyers increasingly seek integrated technology showcases to evaluate automation, AM, and sustainable production solutions. For Chinese OEM/ODM suppliers and trading companies, monitoring T.Gold’s expanded schedule and content can provide early signals on equipment and process innovations that may influence global sourcing standards and competitive dynamics.
