In an era of expensive gold, women are increasingly turning to rolled gold jewellery. Due to its gold-like shine and new designs, demand has surged among young women and married women alike.
It is now common to wear different jewellery with sarees, lehengas, and suits at wedding events. Women prefer to match their ornaments to their outfit and occasion, rather than wearing the same piece repeatedly. Rolled gold jewellery offers a new option: women can buy various designs on a limited budget. Chains, rings, and bangles are the most sought-after items in the market.
According to shopkeepers, women prefer lightweight and attractive designs. Young women demand thin chains and rings with new patterns, while married women are buying bangles and traditional-style jewellery.
Earlier only a few designs were available, but now many varieties are offered. Trader Sonu Verma said that chains, rings, and bangles are in highest demand. Trader Sharad Agarwal noted that rolled gold jewellery looks very attractive and gives a gold-like appearance.
Rolled gold jewellery traders are also offering deals. The jewellery can be returned at half price after six months, one year, or whenever the shine fades. Women are taking advantage of this: when the design becomes outdated, they return the jewellery at half price and purchase new designs.
