**Editor’s Note:** At this year’s JCK Las Vegas show, Assocoral, supported by the Italian Trade Agency, presents “Tableaux Vivants”—an immersive installation at the ITA Pavilion that vividly captures the artistry of its members and the beauty of Naples.

At this year’s JCK Las Vegas show, Assocoral — the Italian Association of Coral and Cameo producers, with support from the Italian Trade Agency — is showcasing at the ITA Pavilion.

Assocoral on Stage: Tableaux Vivants

Assocoral on Stage will come to life with its Tableaux Vivants, an immersive installation using emotionally resonant and vivid imagery to tell the story of the creations by member companies and the beauty of Naples and its surrounding regions.
At the Assocoral institutional stand at Hall C, booth 24005, live models will also showcase coral and cameo jewelry and change out the pieces on display daily.

President’s Perspective on Coral’s Heritage

“Coral is one of the few precious materials used in the world of jewelry that carries with it centuries of history, culture and tradition,” Vincenzo Aucella, president of Assocoral, told Fairchild Studio.

“It is also a precious material that does not undergo treatments that alter its color or purity. For over 200 years, its workmanship has been carried out entirely by hand, only in Torre del Greco, which, together with the art of cameo engraving, is recognized as the world capital of this tradition. The world’s leading brands continue to use coral in their collections, making it an iconic and instantly recognizable jewelry material.”

Assocoral champions the Torre del Greco industry with its town nestled on the slopes of Vesuvius, as a world-renowned leading producer of coral and cameo — a symbol of Made in Italy excellence.
With the backing and support of fashion brand Kiton, a three-minute video guides visitors through the artistry of precious coral and cameo jewelry through the eyes of models wearing coral and cameo jewelry. The Gulf of Naples, Capri, Mount Vesuvius, the Teatro San Carlo and the Circolo dell’Unione serve as a backdrop for the visual journey and are an invitation to discover Italy through different perspectives.

“Coral, cameo and turquoise continue to be in strong demand. But, as in many areas of the jewelry world, the way we work has changed compared to the past. We have moved from mass production to a more refined and selective approach, almost always following the specific directions and requests of our clients. This means slower, more sustainable production, while remaining strictly handmade.
